About & FAQ

Hi, I'm Alex…

This business started when friends kept asking me to help clear out their parents' things. They didn't want to throw away what their mom or dad had loved. They also didn't have the room, the time, or honestly the heart to sell it all piece by piece.

So I started doing it for them. As an artist and history lover, I’ve always been interested in the quality of materials and the story of objects. I’ve been thrifting for over 30 years, and began my professional reselling with antique books.

When we work together, I research what each item is worth, photograph and list in a way that does it justice, and sell it to someone who will actually use it.

It's slow, careful work, and I like it. There's something good about a quilting kit or a stack of old books going to a new home instead of a landfill.

I live in Brooklyn and work with families in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.

Questions people ask

What don't you take?
Heavy furniture, large appliances, and anything damaged or stained. If you're not sure, we will discuss during an in-person visit to your home or storage space, or we can set up a video chat.

How do I get paid?
On the first of each month, I send you an update showing what sold and for how much. Your 50% is paid after shipping, platform fees and packing materials, by ACH bank transfer.

How long does it take for things to sell?
Some items sell in a week. Others take a few months to find the right buyer. There's no timeline on your end, and you can check the shared spreadsheet anytime to see where things stand.

What happens if something doesn't sell?
After 6 months, I'll ask whether you'd like it back, donated, or repriced.

Can I keep something after I've sent it?
Yes. Just let me know before it sells and I'll set it aside for you.

Do you come to me?
Yes. I will come to your home or storage unit to I pick up in most areas of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. You can also bring them to me if you have transportation.

Is there a minimum?
So far, there is no minimum as it depends on the size and number of items. I can take up to 200 items per family.
